It’s not surprising to see that Sunday’s Superbowl pulled in one of the largest viewing audience ever. But not THE largest. That was last year, when the NY Giants squeaked by the New England Patriots.
According to the Nielson ratings company, this year, 108 million people watched the game. Last year, 111.3 people watched.
So… a good rating, but not the best ever, as some people predicted.
In the TV business, February is what’s called a Sweep month, which means it is one of the months where show ratings effect advertising rates. What that really means is you get their best shows, specials, etc.
The ratings months are September, November, February and May.
I’d like to ask everyone…does anyone like any of the new season shows rolled out in September? What is your favorite? What did you immediately hate?
